My work is a continuing exploration of materials, mostly paint, and its application. The works are minimal in form and express the intrinsic qualities of the materials used and how these works exist in an environment. Works are mostly paintings and wall sculptures, and include photography.

My process of working dictates results more than any preplanned concept. The works are layered and often distressed, avoiding a slick fussiness, which neuters a primal energy. I want these works to be experienced instantaneously, with the entire body, without analysis or interpretation by the brain, as is the case with a narrative or conceptual approach.
